Life of Saints

Life of Saints

Reading and studying lives of saints has been a strong and popular tradition in the Church for centuries. It has also been something that SDC and its founder St George Preca have been very keen to do and promote. By presenting lives of saints on this website we intend to carry on with that tradition.

Saints were people like us who lived the gospel values and put what Jesus said into practice. There have been all sorts or saints over the centuries. Male and female, white and black, people of any nationality. Rich and poor… people who did all sorts of jobs. The saints whose lives are included in this website are only a selection. We intend to add more in the future.

We hope they will be an inspiration for anyone who reads them. Saints are models for our imitation. We hope they will be of interest to adults and young people. They can also be used by Confirmation candidates who want to choose a confirmation name.

All saints’ profiles can be read and printed out as they are shown online but there is also a PDF version available for each of them (A4 printout). They are all written in the first person, as if the saints themselves are narrating their journey to sainthood. For each saint there is information about their lives, a quote, picture and date when their feast is celebrated.

We will welcome your help, comments and suggestions. They will be used as a guide for future developments.
